Split Fiction: Co-op Adventure Nears 4M Sales
Hazelight's beloved co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has achieved a remarkable sales milestone, reaching nearly four million copies sold. This impressive figure was announced by publisher EA in their latest financial results, highlighting the game as a "hugely successful launch" and crediting it as a key factor in their strong finish to the 2025 financial year.
In a celebratory post on social media, Hazelight exclaimed, "4 MILLION SOLD!!!!" They expressed gratitude to the fans, saying, "So many of you have picked up Split Fiction already, it’s amazing… Seeing the fun you have with our game and the love you show for Mio, Zoe and each other warms our hearts here at Hazelight. And so many hot dogs made…"
**Split Fiction** immerses players in the diverse worlds created by two fiction writers, offering a unique co-op adventure that allows two players to enjoy the game even if only one owns it. Launched in March, it quickly became a hit, selling over two million copies within its first week. The game is also slated to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, as Hazelight continues to work on its next project.Adding to the excitement, a movie adaptation of Split Fiction is in development. Story Kitchen, known for their work on the Sonic films, is assembling a team of writers, a director, and a cast that will include Sydney Sweeney.
IGN praised Split Fiction in their review, describing it as "an expertly crafted and absorbing co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another." They noted that the game offers "a rollercoaster of gameplay ideas and styles that are usually discarded as quickly as they’re introduced," keeping the experience "fabulously fresh for its full, 14-hour duration."
