No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Acquiring Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft this valuable material.

Finding Solanium

Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, use your ship's scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.

Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These plants cluster together and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. While on these planets, collect Phosphorus deposits as well; they're crucial for crafting Solanium.

Farming Solanium

After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting each vine with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible.

Harvesting takes approximately 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium

The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, mostly using Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
