Silent Hill f Gets Banned in Australia
Silent Hill f will not see release in Australia following its classification ruling. The Australian Classification Board issued a "Refused Classification" rating, effectively prohibiting the game's distribution within the country.
The privately listed classification report provided minimal details about the decision. As outlined on the Australian Classification Board website, RC-rated content includes materials that "cannot be sold, hired, advertised or legally imported" because they exceed community standards and surpass what's permissible even under adult ratings (R 18+ and X 18+).
By comparison, the ESRB granted Silent Hill f a "Mature 17+" rating, citing graphic content including blood/gore, intense violence, and partial nudity. The rating summary describes frequent blood effects, enemies impaling players, gory cutscenes, and concept artwork featuring nude mannequins as contributing factors.
Konami's recent Silent Hill Transmission on March 13 offered glimpses of the upcoming title. Given these classification ratings, the franchise appears poised to deliver one of its most graphically violent and disturbing entries yet.
