"Schizophrenic Fan Inspired by Arkham Knight, Receives Kevin Conroy

In 2020, a poignant story emerged on Reddit from a fan of Batman: Arkham Knight who was battling schizophrenia. The game's ending, where Batman confronts and overcomes his fears, paranoia, and hallucinations, deeply resonated with the fan. He saw Batman's journey as a powerful metaphor for his own struggles with his condition. Inspired, he reached out to Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, via the Cameo service to express his gratitude.

Expecting a standard 30-second message, the fan was instead gifted with over six minutes of heartfelt encouragement from Conroy. Moved by the fan's personal story, Conroy went beyond a formal response, offering genuine support and understanding. The fan described this video as a lifeline during some of his darkest moments:

"This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video, the fan's perspective changed upon learning about Conroy's personal connection to schizophrenia through his brother. Hoping to extend the same comfort and inspiration to others, he decided to make the video public. He expressed readiness to remove it should Conroy's family request it, but emphasized its profound impact:

"If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Tragically, Kevin Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. Yet, his legacy and the touching words he shared continue to inspire and uplift countless individuals worldwide.
