Romancing SaGa Re:universe Sunset Announced by Square Enix

Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.

Two Months Remain

With the December shutdown looming, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched in June 2020, the global server's four-year run is concluding. Despite its attractive visuals, compelling soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, the game received mixed player feedback.

Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version experienced fluctuating popularity. The absence of significant content updates, such as the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades (available in Japan for nearly a year), contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately impacted the game's longevity.

Community Reactions

Square Enix has already closed several titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, adding to the closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server.

A Classic Turn-Based RPG

Based on the beloved SaGa franchise, Romancing SaGa Re:universe offers a traditional turn-based RPG experience. Players have approximately two months remaining to enjoy the game. Those who haven't yet experienced it can download it from the Google Play Store.
