Respawn Cancels Titanfall Universe Multiplayer Shooter

A former employee of Respawn Entertainment recently disclosed on LinkedIn that the studio has halted the development of a new game this week. The project, which had been in the works for several years, was abruptly stopped without any public explanation regarding the reasons behind this decision.

Last year, gaming journalist Jeff Grubb reported that this project was not a mainline entry in the Titanfall series, specifically clarifying that it was not Titanfall 3. To bring this vision to life, Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" composed of experts in multiplayer shooter development.

This isn't the first time Respawn has had to cancel a project. Last year, they also shut down an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends.

The Titanfall series, renowned for its exhilarating mix of action and mech piloting, allows players to engage in combat either as agile pilots or as formidable Titans. Since the debut of the first game in 2014, the franchise has captivated gamers worldwide with its distinctive gameplay, featuring parkour and intense team battles.

Currently, Respawn's focus has shifted to other high-profile projects. They are diligently working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series and collaborating with Bit Reactor on a new strategy game set in the Star Wars universe.
