Should You Help Prochek or Olbram in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? (Mice & Frogs Quest Guide)
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, early side quests in Tachov and Zhelejov offer a choice between aiding Prochek or Olbram. This guide explores both options within the "Mice or Frogs" questline.
Can You Help Both?
While Tachov and Zhelejov are at odds, cleverly navigating the quests allows completion of most tasks for both Prochek and Olbram. This unlocks more backstory, though a completely favorable outcome for both is impossible.
Prochek vs. Olbram: Which to Choose?
Ultimately, choosing between Prochek and Olbram is largely a matter of preference. Both aim to sabotage the other; the choice boils down to personal enjoyment of the tasks.
Olbram's quest involves stealing the Zhelejov maypole, requiring nighttime stealth and potentially charming a guard. Prochek's task is to paint Olbram's bull blue, demanding dye from the tailor and a lullaby potion recipe from Radovan (requiring either apprenticeship or charm). Prochek's quest might be slightly harder early on, due to potential groschen or Speech skill requirements.
Prochek's "Mice" Quest:
Speak to Prochek in Tachov (or the innkeeper if he's unavailable). This initiates the "Mice" quest.
- Dye and Lullaby Potion: Purchase dye from Bartoshek the tailor in Troskowitz. Obtain the lullaby potion recipe from Radovan (either through apprenticeship or charm). The recipe requires oil, poppy, and thistle (found near the Troskowitz apothecary). Brew the potion, then head to Zhelejov, administer it to the bull, and paint the bull. Report back to Prochek.
Olbram's "Frogs" Quest:
Find Olbram near the Zhelejov meadow. Agreeing to retrieve the maypole starts the "Frogs" quest.
- Steal the Maypole: Go to Tachov at night. Henrik guards the maypole. You can knock him out or (with sufficient Speech) charm him into leaving by arranging a date with Manka. After Henrik leaves, chop down the maypole and return to Olbram. He'll then task you with chasing sheep from a Tachov pasture and delivering a digestive potion to Alshik. You can complete this or inform Prochek, ending both quests.
This concludes the guide on the "Mice and Frogs" quests. Further Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 advice, including strategies for dealing with Jakesh and optimal perk choices, can be found elsewhere.
