Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary: New Raids and Exciting Bonuses!

Pokémon GO’s 8th Anniversary is just around the corner, and it promises a week packed with excitement starting from Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. until Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. Get ready for a whirlwind of new Pokémon appearances, event bonuses, and fantastic opportunities in raids and trades.

Here’s What’s In Store!

Kicking things off, you'll encounter new Pokémon in festive attire, including Grimer and Muk sporting party hats. Keep your eyes peeled for a chance to catch a Shiny Grimer! Additionally, Meltan will make a shiny return when you use the Mystery Box during the event.

During Pokémon GO’s 8th Anniversary, your chances of becoming Lucky Friends and acquiring Lucky Pokémon through trades will be significantly boosted. Friendship levels will increase more rapidly than usual by opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together. Plus, spinning a PokéStop with a Golden Lure Module might reward you with 8 or even 88 Gimmighoul Coins.

The event comes with a series of special bonuses spread across its duration. From June 28th to 29th, enjoy half the Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators. From June 30th to July 1st, earn double XP for catching Pokémon. And from July 2nd to July 3rd, collect double Stardust for each catch.

The excitement continues with one-star raids featuring festively dressed Pokémon, increasing your chances of encountering shiny versions. Engage in event-themed field research tasks for encounters with partner Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and more. Additionally, you'll receive Mega Energy rewards for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.
