On January 6, 2025, Niantic announced the eagerly awaited dates and locations for the 2025 Pokemon GO Fest. This three-day extravaganza will span three vibrant cities on different dates, offering a global celebration for Pokemon GO enthusiasts. Here’s where and when you can join the fun:

• Osaka, Japan: May 29 - June 1
• Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6 - June 8
• Paris, France: June 13 - June 15

Annual Global Event for Pokemon GO Players

Pokemon GO Fest is a cornerstone event for the global community of trainers, offering access to exclusive items, gameplay features, and bonuses. Attendees can participate in in-person events held in various cities worldwide, requiring a ticket purchase. These in-person gatherings offer unique experiences as trainers explore the hosting city.

A major draw of Pokemon GO Fest is the chance to encounter rare Pokemon unavailable in regular gameplay. For example, the 2024 event introduced Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Certain Pokemon will also have a higher chance of appearing in Shiny form, distributed across different habitats within the event area.

For those attending in person, exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed sets, and community hubs add to the festive atmosphere. Team lounges provide a space for trainers to socialize and connect with fellow enthusiasts. While specifics for 2025 are still forthcoming, expect a similar thrilling experience to past events.

Two More Pokemon Events For January Announced

In addition to the Pokemon GO Fest 2025 announcement, Niantic has unveiled two more events launching this January. These include the Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day events.

Fashion Week: Taken Over offers players the chance to rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. This event will also introduce Shroodle and Grafaiai, which can be obtained by hatching 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokemon, such as Snivy and Tepig, will appear, and players may encounter a fashion week-themed Croagunk when taking snapshots.

During Shadow Raid Day, trainers can battle and capture Shadow Ho-Oh in Five-Star Shadow Raids. A $5 USD ticket grants eight additional Raid Passes, an increased chance to obtain Rare Candy XL, double Stardust, and a 50% XP boost from Raid Battles. Shiny Ho-Oh encounters are more likely, and trainers can teach Ho-Oh its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
