Persona 3 Reload Still Unlikely to Include Female Protagonist from P3P
Atlus producer Kazushi Wada reiterates the unlikelihood of Persona 3 Portable's female protagonist (FeMC), Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato, appearing in Persona 3 Reload. Recent comments, reported by PC Gamer, clarify that integrating the FeMC was deemed too expensive and time-consuming, even as post-launch DLC.
The decision, made during planning for the Episode Aigis - The Answer DLC, stems from significant development hurdles and budgetary constraints. While the team initially considered adding the FeMC to Persona 3 Reload, a full remake released in February, the feasibility proved insurmountable.
Wada emphasized the impracticality, stating that the development time and costs would be unmanageable. He expressed regret to fans who hoped for her inclusion, stating that it's "likely never going to happen." This echoes previous statements to Famitsu, where he highlighted the substantially greater challenge and cost compared to creating the Episode Aigis DLC. The inclusion of the FeMC would have required significantly more resources than initially anticipated.
Despite the popularity of the FeMC in Persona 3 Portable, Wada's latest comments effectively rule out her future appearance in Persona 3 Reload, dashing hopes for both launch and post-release inclusion.
