"Onimusha: Way of the Sword Unveils New Trailer with Fresh Gameplay and Protagonist"
Capcom has unveiled exciting new gameplay footage of their highly anticipated 2026 action game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Not only that, but we now know that the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi will lead the charge in this thrilling addition to the Onimusha series.
During the PlayStation State of Play event, Capcom treated fans to a fresh trailer showcasing the gameplay of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Although the game won't hit the shelves until 2026, the sword-based action and formidable enemies promise a visually stunning and engaging experience.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will feature Miyamoto Musashi, a historic Japanese swordsman renowned for his exceptional skills with the blade. The trailer not only highlighted his unmatched swordplay but also offered a glimpse into his roguish and humorous personality. Capcom has meticulously modeled Musashi's face after the iconic late actor Toshiro Mifune, who portrayed Musashi in samurai films.
According to Capcom's press release, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is described as a dark fantasy action game set in Kyoto, which has fallen under the control of an evil force called Malic. Malic is attempting to bring Hell and its inhabitants into Japan, setting the stage for an epic battle. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades, and to prepare fans for the release, Capcom will also launch a remastered version of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny on May 23, 2025.
