After months of rumors and speculation, Bethesda has officially confirmed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The announcement came via a tweet on April 21, setting the stage for a livestream reveal.

First Released in 2006

Originally developed by Bethesda Game Studios and co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, Oblivion was initially slated to be a launch title for the Xbox 360 in late 2005. However, due to development delays, the Xbox 360 and PC versions were released in March 2006.

The mobile version, crafted by Superscape and published by Vir2L Studios, hit the market in May 2006. The PlayStation 3 edition followed in North America in March 2007, with a European release in April 2007. Plans for a PSP version were unfortunately scrapped. Over the years, various bundled editions were released, often paired with other acclaimed titles like Fallout 3 and BioShock.

Recent leaks from Virtuos’ website have provided a glimpse into what fans can expect from the remastered version.
