Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leaks C Button
Nintendo has officially confirmed that the mysterious new button on the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con is indeed labeled "C," validating earlier rumors.
The revelation comes from the newly launched Nintendo Today! app, where careful scrutiny of its App Store and Google Play listings shows the "C" marking on the button.
Although the button was initially showcased alongside the Switch 2 earlier this year, early images of the Joy-Con lacked any visible labeling. Previous reports suggested it would be called the "C" button, which has now been confirmed.

Speculation about the button's purpose runs rampant. Some theorize it may enable wireless TV casting or screen sharing, while others speculate it could toggle Joy-Con functions—such as switching to mouse mode. Additional theories suggest it might be tied to enhanced group or voice chat features.
Nintendo has scheduled a Switch 2 Direct presentation for April 2, where more details will likely emerge. Until then, here are the confirmed facts:
The Nintendo Switch 2 launches in 2025, with industry insiders suggesting a June release based on hands-on event timelines. The console features a larger design than its predecessor, accompanied by oversized Joy-Con controllers that appear to double as mice. Two USB-C ports are included—one positioned at the top and another at the bottom—doubling the original model's connectivity. Backward compatibility is confirmed, with Nintendo's reveal trailer demonstrating support for both physical and digital Switch games, alongside Switch 2 exclusives (though some legacy titles may face compatibility issues). A brand-new Mario Kart title is also in development for the platform.
