The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was initially tasked with adapting Sifu's narrative, might still have a role, his current involvement in the project remains uncertain.

The project boasts a stellar production team, with Chad Stahelski, the visionary behind the John Wick franchise, and his company 87Eleven Entertainment joining as executive producers. Stahelski is also currently involved in another high-profile video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima, further highlighting his expertise in this field.

Sifu, released in 2022, became an instant success, selling over one million copies within just three weeks of its launch. The game centers around a young martial artist on a quest for revenge following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after death but ages them several years each time, the protagonist navigates a perilous path filled with danger and intrigue.
