Microsoft Is Developing Gears of War Collection Without Multiplayer

Renowned Windows Central editor and insider, Jez Corden, has confirmed reports that Microsoft is developing a Gears of War collection. Recent rumors suggested the collection would exclude the franchise's multiplayer mode, a claim Corden verified. While competitive online play won't be included, he confirmed cooperative gameplay and the main story campaigns will be available.

Industry speculation points to a potential announcement of the Gears of War Collection at the upcoming Xbox Showcase in June. Details remain limited, but insiders suggest the collection may include the first three games in the series.
Development on the next main entry, Gears of War: E-Day, continues using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Recent leaks hinted at a potential 2024 release, but Corden believes a 2026 release is more likely.
