Metal Slug: Awakening delivers a modern update to the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally debuting in Southeast Asia in late 2023. Now, it's poised for a worldwide release.

For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, first launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation, and since expanded into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense, Metal Slug Attack, and Metal Slug Commander existed, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.

This new iteration stays true to the original's core gameplay, incorporating enhanced visuals and innovative mechanics. Expect to revisit familiar characters and embark on fresh missions. Game modes include a World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike encounters.
