Marvel's Wolverine Not Included in Recent Roadmap from Insomniac Games

Insomniac Games recently shared their future plans, but remained tight-lipped about Marvel's Wolverine. This highly anticipated title continues to generate buzz, but concrete updates remain scarce.

Marvel's Wolverine: A Silent Update

While Insomniac discussed their ambitious roadmap and new projects in an interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern kept details about Marvel's Wolverine close to the vest. He emphasized their focus on existing projects, stating they aren't ready to disclose information on upcoming releases and declined to confirm or deny a 2025 release window. "As much as we have pent-up excitement, we've got to hold on to it," Dezern explained.

Marvel's Wolverine: A 2021 Reveal

Initially unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a cinematic teaser, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. A 2023 interview with Kinda Funny revealed from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Creative Director Bryan Intihar that Wolverine is set within the same universe as Spider-Man ("they’re all in 1048"). While fans anticipated crossovers, the only confirmed connection so far is a Wolverine-themed suit ("The Best There Is") in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some development assets to the public.

Insomniac Games' Current Projects

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC January 30, 2025 (as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025). Insomniac confirmed no further DLC is planned for the game, but the PC version will include all post-release updates, including new suits and New Game+. It will be available in Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions.
