DC Comics announces Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series debuting May 2025, bringing acclaimed Marvel writer Dan Slott back to DC. Superman Unlimited pairs Slott with artist Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire) and colorist Marcelo Maiolo. Slott expressed his lifelong ambition to craft Superman stories, emphasizing not just the character's powers, but his core essence. He promises a captivating monthly adventure.

The series introduces a perilous new reality for Superman. A Kryptonite asteroid shower arms Intergang and other foes with Kryptonite-based weaponry, forcing Superman to develop innovative technology and combat strategies. Simultaneously, Clark Kent confronts a transformed Daily Planet, now a global multimedia giant after merging with Morgan Edge's Galaxy Communications.

DC group editor Paul Kaminski compares Superman Unlimited's impact to that of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness's Superman/Batman in the early 2000s. He highlights the series' emphasis on large-scale adventures while introducing a massive new Kryptonite deposit, creating a world where even petty criminals pose a significant threat to Superman. This contrasts with the Justice League Unlimited series, focusing instead on a world of super-powered villains.

The series begins with a 10-page prelude in DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition #1 (May 3, 2025), followed by Superman Unlimited #1 on May 21, preceding James Gunn's Superman film (July 11).
