The last major Baldur's Gate III patch entered the stress test stage
Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, players who haven't already are advised to reinstall the game for optimal testing participation.
Patch 8 introduces several key features, most notably cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now team up regardless of platform. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods are available across PC, Mac, and consoles, and the host's installation doesn't exceed ten mods.
Another significant addition is split-screen co-op for Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Beyond multiplayer enhancements, Patch 8 boasts a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and replayability. Bug fixes and balancing adjustments are also included, although some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog is available on the game's official website.
