Recent leaks have surfaced online showcasing early gameplay footage of EA's highly anticipated upcoming Battlefield game. According to TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's closed Battlefield Labs playtest, which was intended for a select group of players to provide feedback to developers. Although anto_merguezz's Twitch page no longer hosts the clips, the footage has been captured and shared across the internet, particularly on Reddit.

The leaked footage validates earlier hints from Vince Zampella about a "modern" setting for the new game, setting it apart from previous Battlefield titles that explored historical or futuristic themes. Viewers can see intense firefights and the game's signature destructible environments in action. Early fan reactions appear positive, which bodes well following the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

Following the official unveiling last month, we've learned that the next installment in the Battlefield series will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, much to the delight of fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA has slated the release of the next Battlefield game for fiscal 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals. Given the recent leaks, it's clear that EA will need to accelerate their official announcements to stay ahead of further unauthorized disclosures.

IGN has reached out to EA for a statement regarding these leaks.
