Larian Seeks Community Help for Patch 8 Testing of Baldur's Gate 3
Larian Studios has announced that the Patch 8 stress test build for *Baldur's Gate 3* is set to launch in January. Players can access this build on Steam for PC, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, those on Mac and using GOG will not have access to this stress test. The registration form for interested players is currently open and active.
In preparation for the official release of Patch 8, Larian Studios has committed to rigorously testing the build to identify and resolve any instability or gameplay issues. “With your help, we’ll be able to keep an eye on any funny business,” the developer stated. A key aspect of this testing phase includes evaluating the newly introduced crossplay feature. Larian highlighted the complexity of adding crossplay to a game as expansive as *Baldur's Gate 3*, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in testing this functionality.
Players are encouraged to share the stress test registration link with friends to embark on a crossplay campaign together. Alternatively, those seeking a group to play with can join the Larian Studios Discord Server.
Although Patch 8 marks the final major update for *Baldur's Gate 3*, Larian Studios has assured continued support for the game's modding community. The studio promises “big updates still to come,” including enhancements designed to empower players to craft their own narratives. Since the release of the official mod tools in September, the community has shown remarkable engagement, with over 70 million module downloads and more than 3,000 mods uploaded.
