The “Canker” side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is an early-game mission accessible after completing “The Jaunt.” This quest offers a chance to acquire a mace and some Groschen. Here’s how to complete it:

Picking Up the “Canker” Side Quest

To begin, speak with Gules in Semine. Conveniently, you can initiate this quest during Lord Semine and Agnes’ wedding, while Gules is enjoying a drink. Alternatively, find him on patrol in Semine. Mention his former bandit gang and offer your assistance in eliminating them. Canker is your first target.

Finding and Killing Canker

Upon accepting the quest, Canker’s location (north of Nebakov Mill) will appear on your map. Be prepared for potential ambushes by bandits along the way. You can choose stealth, combat, or simply running past them. While these bandits aren't overly challenging, skirmishes can deplete your health before the main encounter.

Canker’s camp is nestled within a mountain pass, easily missed if you don't look closely. It’s similar to accessing the Hermit’s house in the “Wedding Crashers” quest. Prepare for battle before entering, as you’ll face several bandits alongside Canker. Some bandits may flee depending on the order you eliminate them, but thorough combat is recommended to ensure quest completion. Canker himself does not flee.

Completing the Quest and Returning to Gules

After defeating Canker and the other bandits, loot Canker's body. You must acquire the Light Mace, though other loot is yours for the taking. Return to Gules to complete the “Canker” quest.

Following the completion of “Canker,” wait a full in-game day before speaking to Gules again to initiate the next quest in the series, “Handsome Charlie.”
