Elliot Page Stars in Upcoming Beyond: Two Souls TV Series
Elliot Page, star of the original Beyond: Two Souls video game, is set to bring the emotionally rich and non-linear story to television through his production company, Pageboy Productions. According to Deadline, Page has secured the rights from Quantic Dream with plans to develop a TV series based on the 2013 interactive narrative title. The project is currently in early development and aims to preserve the game’s unique storytelling structure while crafting a fresh vision for both longtime fans and new audiences.
Page described working on the original Beyond: Two Souls motion capture experience as “one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences” of his career. He added, “The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers alike.”
Matt Jordan Smith, head of development and production at Pageboy Productions, shared insights into the creative approach behind the adaptation. He explained that the team intends to “honor the game’s legacy while inviting fresh perspectives.” He also emphasized how central themes—like survival and the ripple effects of instantaneous decisions—are integral to the retelling of Jodie Holmes’ journey.
Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls was later re-released on PlayStation 4 in 2015 and made available on PC in 2019. Written and directed by Quantic Dream founder David Cage, the game follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman linked to a supernatural entity named Aiden. Her life unfolds across years through fragmented yet interconnected events, blending action, emotion, and player choice into a deeply cinematic experience.
Cage confirmed he is collaborating with Elliot Page on the upcoming TV adaptation, though details about the scope of his involvement remain undisclosed. In a statement, Cage said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project. I was blown away by his acting performance in the game, and I couldn’t think of anyone else to tell this story with the same passion on another medium. Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV.”
More information about casting, plot details, and release timing will be revealed as the project progresses. For now, fans can revisit IGN’s original review of Beyond: Two Souls here, or explore IGN’s full collection of Quantic Dream game reviews here.
