Jack Quaid Eyes Bioshock Role Amid Comparisons to Max Payne in Novocaine
Jack Quaid, star of the popular series "The Boys," recently expressed his enthusiasm for appearing in a potential BioShock movie during a Reddit AMA coinciding with the release of his new film, "Novocaine." Quaid praised the first-person shooter game, calling it one of his favorite games ever due to its "rich lore," which he believes could be effectively explored in a TV or movie format.
The possibility of a BioShock movie has been a topic of interest, especially after producer Roy Lee's comments last July. Lee mentioned that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to changes in leadership and budget constraints from Netflix. This shift aims to create a "more personal" film, moving away from the grander vision initially planned. Despite these changes, Francis Lawrence, known for directing "The Hunger Games," remains attached to direct the adaptation.
In addition to his interest in BioShock, Quaid has been compared to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is based on Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have noted the resemblance, especially in scenes from "Novocaine," leading to speculation about Quaid's potential to play similar roles. However, Quaid admitted he is less familiar with Max Payne, although he plans to play the game soon, expressing his admiration for Rockstar's titles.
Quaid also shared his love for FromSoftware games, highlighting his recent achievements in beating challenging titles like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. He credits the Reddit community for helping him conquer these games' tough bosses, emphasizing his passion for video games and their challenging nature.
