Godzilla's reign of terror shifts from Tokyo to the United States in IDW Publishing and Toho's new series, Godzilla vs. America. Following the Chicago installment, the series continues its destructive path in Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a four-story anthology depicting Godzilla's attack on the City of Angels. The creative team includes renowned artists Gabriel Hardman, J. Gonzo, Dave Baker, and Nicole Goux.

The release of Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 coincides unfortunately with the devastating wildfires that recently impacted the Los Angeles area. Acknowledging the sensitive timing, IDW Publishing has pledged to donate all proceeds from the comic's sales to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc), supporting bookstores and comic shops affected by the fires. In a letter to retailers and readers, IDW emphasized their commitment to community support and clarified that the comic, in development since July 2024, explores themes of resilience in the face of catastrophic events.

Associate editor Nicolas Niño shared his excitement about the project, highlighting the collaboration with Los Angeles-based artists and the stories featured in the comic, including Godzilla battling giant lowrider mechs and navigating the city's subway system. Niño emphasized the narrative's focus on Angelenos uniting against a formidable natural force, making it a fitting tribute to the city's spirit of recovery.

Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 will be released on April 30, 2025, with final orders due March 24, 2025. For more on upcoming comic book releases, explore previews of Marvel and DC's 2025 offerings.
