Games Radar reports the discovery of these tapes on the Ron South YouTube channel, maintained by a filmmaker with a modest subscriber base. The collection includes auditions from Cavill, Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr.

Cavill's audition has garnered significant attention, with many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, praising his performance as "tremendous." While Campbell reportedly favored Cavill, the final decision ultimately went to Craig due to the preferences of other stakeholders.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in the film Argylle, starring alongside a renowned ensemble cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara.
