The roguelike dungeon crawler sequel, Hades II, has launched its second major patch, The Warsong Update. This update allows protagonist Melinoë to advance to the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus. The update also introduces the bloodthirsty god of war, Ares, along with his powerful Boons, which are sure to add an exciting new dimension to your playthrough.

But that's not all! The Warsong Update brings a new animal familiar, fresh enemies to battle, an updated Altar of Ashes featuring new art and Arcana effects, over 2,000 new voice lines, and new events to encounter. Players can now also take a break from the intense dungeon crawling to relax in the Crossroads, enjoy all-new soundtracks, or even sing a melodic duet with Artemis herself.

Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update

Even with the Warsong Update freshly released, developer Supergiant Games is already looking forward to the third major update, which is slated to be revealed "some months from now," according to their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access for the time being, as the developers have indicated that "it's still too early to share our plans beyond that, including when our v1.0 launch will be." However, the full release might be closer than expected, as they've confirmed that the core structure of both the Underworld and Surface routes is now complete, and they are focusing on enriching the existing content.

Once all post-launch patches for The Warsong Update are rolled out, Supergiant Games will shift their focus to the following initiatives:

• Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms still have undiscovered secrets that players will eventually be able to uncover and wield.
• Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles, a key element of Hades II, will be tweaked to offer even more challenging and surprising encounters.
• Expanded Story: Further development of Melinoë’s story, along with deepening inter-character relationships and subplots, is already being planned.
