Gamescom 2024 Excludes Silksong
Fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong were hit with a wave of disappointment recently when Geoff Keighley, the producer and host of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, confirmed via Twitter (now known as X) that the eagerly awaited sequel would not be featured at the event. The announcement came after Keighley had initially teased the lineup with a tantalizing "+ More," sparking speculation among the community that an update on Silksong might finally be on the horizon, especially given the game's radio silence for over a year.
However, Keighley quickly put those hopes to rest, stating, "Just to get this out of the way, no Silksong on Tuesday at ONL." Despite this, he reassured fans that Team Cherry, the developers behind Silksong, are diligently working on the project. This news, while disappointing, at least confirms that the game is still in active development.
While the absence of Silksong at Gamescom 2024's Opening Night Live was a letdown, Keighley did provide some excitement with a robust lineup of other titles set to appear. Fans can look forward to seeing games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Civilization 7, MARVEL Rivals, and more.
