Analyst Matthew Ball's assertion that a $100 price point for AAA games could revitalize the industry sparked a debate, prompting a survey to gauge player willingness to pay that much for a base edition of Grand Theft Auto VI. The results were surprising: over one-third of nearly 7,000 respondents indicated they'd be willing to pay $100, even amidst Ubisoft's current practice of pushing extended game versions.

Ball's statement, which recently gained significant online traction, suggested that Rockstar and Take-Two could set a precedent for other publishers by adopting this pricing model.

Rockstar's announcement of 2025 updates for Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online hints at more than just visual enhancements for the PC version, bringing it in line with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases. This could include expanding the availability of the GTA+ subscription, currently exclusive to consoles, to PC players. Furthermore, features absent from the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Online, such as Hao's high-speed car modifications, may finally arrive. The possibility of extreme turbo-tuning becoming available on PC is therefore quite high.
