Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving Henry initially unarmed. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is entirely possible. This guide details how to obtain this valuable weapon.

After separating from Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map provides easy access to the bow. While the blacksmith job offers access to the hermit's sword later, the bow is readily available beforehand.

The blacksmith resides in Tachov, north of Troskowitz. Travel west from Troskowitz, following the path north. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. A small training area is concealed within this seemingly unremarkable cluster.

Locate the archery target with arrows; collect these for free ammunition. To the right of the target, against a tree trunk, you'll find the Dogwood Village Bow. Additional items like brew and mushrooms are also nearby. Once you've gathered your supplies, proceed with your quest.

Alternative Acquisition:

While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Considering its proximity to the free version, purchasing it is less efficient. However, Vitek offers superior weapons, and alchemy (herb gathering and potion brewing) provides a profitable alternative.

Regardless of your method, having a ranged option significantly improves combat, especially since difficulty adjustments are limited. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's melee combat may not appeal to all players. Ranged weapons offer a viable alternative.

After obtaining the bow (whether free or purchased), continue your journey. If you chose the blacksmith path, save your game after successfully forging a sword. Otherwise, proceed to the miller to continue the main storyline. With a ranged weapon, you'll navigate Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's challenges more effectively.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
