Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, reintroducing beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, which also brings back the classic Cluster Clinger. Simultaneously, the annual Winterfest event is in full swing, complete with festive quests, new items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and exciting skins featuring Mariah Carey and other holiday-themed characters.

December is proving to be a busy month for Fortnite, with a flurry of new skins and collaborations alongside the Winterfest celebrations. Beyond the holiday spirit, collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja add to the game's diverse content. The OG mode, in particular, is receiving significant attention.

A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode marks the triumphant return of the Launch Pad, a cherished item from Chapter 1, Season 1. This iconic traversal tool predates other mobility options, offering players a strategic advantage for surprise attacks or swift escapes.

Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Items

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning favorite. The Hunting Rifle (originally from Chapter 3) makes a comeback, providing long-range combat capabilities, especially appreciated by players who miss the sniper rifles absent from Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also reappear in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

The resurgence of Fortnite OG has been remarkably successful, attracting 1.1 million players within the first two hours of its launch. Alongside the mode's revival, Epic Games launched an OG Item Shop, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the reintroduction of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
