Yesterday, Final Fantasy 16's producer Naoki Yoshida courteously requested fans to avoid creating "offensive or inappropriate" mods for the PC version. Yet, the focus has quickly shifted to more pressing concerns: the game's demanding performance requirements. Despite the excitement around playing Final Fantasy 16 at 4K resolution with 60 fps, recent benchmarks reveal that even the formidable NVIDIA RTX 4090 struggles to meet these expectations.

John Papadopoulos from DSOGaming reports that maintaining a steady 60 fps at native 4K resolution with the highest settings is proving difficult for Final Fantasy 16 on PC. This is unexpected, given that the RTX 4090 is one of the most powerful graphics cards available to consumers.

However, there's a silver lining for PC gamers. Utilizing DLSS 3 Frame Generation alongside DLAA can reportedly push frame rates consistently above 80 fps. DLSS 3, NVIDIA's cutting-edge technology, uses AI to generate additional frames, enhancing gameplay smoothness. Meanwhile, DLAA offers improved image quality with minimal impact on performance compared to traditional anti-aliasing methods.
