Farming Simulator VR: A First Look

The beloved farming life simulator is about to become even more immersive. Giants Software, the developers behind the series, have officially announced Farming Simulator VR, a virtual reality experience that plunges players into the heart of agricultural life.

Dubbed a "brand new" farming experience, Farming Simulator VR will challenge players to independently manage the sowing and harvesting of crops using equipment, tend to vegetables in greenhouses, maintain their vehicles, and more—all in pursuit of developing and prospering their own farm.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from fans of the series, who see potential in using Farming Simulator VR as an educational tool. Amidst the excitement, a curious question has emerged: What happens if you get in the way of a working combine harvester?

Mark your calendars—Farming Simulator VR is set to launch on February 28, and it will be available exclusively for Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro devices.

What can future virtual farmers look forward to? The developers have promised a comprehensive agricultural experience, including:

  • A full cycle of agricultural work—planting, harvesting, packing, and selling;
  • Growing tomatoes, eggplants, strawberries, and other crops in greenhouses;
  • Official machinery from Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere, and other manufacturers;
  • The ability to repair and maintain machines in your own workshop;
  • An added layer of realism—washing machines under pressure.
