No Explicit Sex Scenes in inZOI
The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently tackled some fan questions, notably around the topic of sexual intercourse in the game. When asked about this sensitive subject, the assistant director provided a notably ambiguous response, carefully avoiding direct mention of "sex." The essence of the answer suggested that if two ZOIs—a male and a female—retire to bed together, it implies an intent to procreate. However, the visual depiction of this act is left to the player's imagination.
Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.
This leaves players wondering whether inZOI will follow the censorship style seen in The Sims series or introduce a novel approach to handling such content.
The developers also shed light on why ZOIs shower in towels instead of using pixelated censorship. They explained that pixelation tends to fit better with more cartoonish graphics, and in a game striving for realism, such as inZOI, it can come across as overly sexualized. Additionally, they revealed a technical issue: a bug caused the pixelation not to appear in mirror reflections when a naked ZOI approached one.
For those curious about the game's content, the ratings assigned provide some clarity. inZOI has been rated ESRB - T (for teens) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning with the ratings given to The Sims 4. These ratings offer a hint at the level of mature content players can expect in the game.
