Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation
The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the well-known Dark and Darker, have recently announced the cessation of support for their game and the impending closure of its servers. Despite its promising start, Dungeonborne struggled to maintain its player base over its less-than-a-year lifespan, primarily due to insufficient player engagement and the absence of notable updates.
Although the game's page remains visible on Steam, it has become unsearchable on the platform and can only be accessed via a direct link. While the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the game's extremely low player numbers were a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, Dungeonborne saw a peak of only 200 concurrent players, with activity plummeting to a mere 10-15 players in recent times.
The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled to be permanently shut down on May 28, effectively concluding the game's short-lived journey. This marks the end of a project that, despite initial excitement among genre enthusiasts, ultimately fell short of its potential and will now recede into gaming history.
