Dragon Quest X Lands on Mobile in Japan

Dragon Quest X Offline is finally coming to mobile devices in Japan! This single-player version of the popular MMORPG will be available tomorrow for iOS and Android at a discounted price, offering offline functionality.

Japanese fans can rejoice, but global release remains uncertain. While the original Dragon Quest X was a Japan-exclusive title, the availability of the offline version on mobile sparks hope for an international launch. However, currently, there's no official news regarding a worldwide release.

For those unfamiliar, Dragon Quest X stands out in the series with its MMORPG elements, including real-time combat—a departure from the traditional turn-based gameplay. The offline version, initially released in 2022 for consoles and PC, simplifies the experience for solo play. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially discussed as far back as 2013 by Ubitu.

The lack of an international release is disappointing for many fans, including myself, a long-time devotee of the series. The prospect of experiencing even a different version of Dragon Quest on mobile is highly appealing.
