If you're aiming for the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing certain tasks is crucial, and saving Sam is one of them. Knowing where to find Sam can be a game-changer in your quest for perfection.

Rescuing Sam During “Reckoning”

As you approach the end of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. Your chance to save him comes during the main quest "Reckoning." Infiltrating the camp can be done through stealth or force, but blending in is key.

To move freely within the camp without raising suspicion, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain one by either killing a guard and hiding his body or by looting chests scattered around the camp. Once you have the outfit equipped, you can search for Sam without being questioned.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, it's not immediately time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, and finally return to Sam to get him out of the camp. Sam can wait safely while you complete these tasks, making it easier to manage the sequence of events.

Von Aulitz is found in the main part of the camp. Wearing the guard's outfit allows you to enter his area without issue. Upon finding him, you'll see that von Aulitz is already dying. He requests a dignified death, which is the most honorable choice. Alternatively, you can kill him cruelly or leave him to die slowly. Interestingly, leaving him to die contributes to the best ending.

Once you've dealt with von Aulitz, your next step is to retrieve Sam and find a horse. Sam remains in the barn where you left him. If questioned by a guard while moving Sam, simply say you're handling a body, which will clear any suspicion. Exit the camp, turn right, and follow the perimeter until you reach the stables.
