Cthulhu: Cosmic Abyss Game Announced
Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind critically acclaimed games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and The Council, has unveiled its next project: Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. The announcement was accompanied by a stunning CG trailer, introducing players to Noah, the protagonist battling encroaching madness amidst the submerged city of R'lyeh and the terrifying presence of Cthulhu himself.
Set in 2053, the narrative unfolds as deep-sea corporate mining operations inadvertently awaken a cosmic horror of immense power. Players assume the role of Noah, an agent within Interpol's clandestine Occult Affairs division, charged with investigating the mysterious disappearance of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Aided by Key, a sophisticated AI companion, players will delve into the secrets of the sunken city of R'lyeh, solve challenging puzzles, and struggle to maintain their sanity against Cthulhu's overwhelming influence.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game promises breathtaking, reality-warping environments that will immerse players in a truly haunting atmosphere. The recently released trailer offers a captivating glimpse into the tense and thrilling gameplay experience that awaits. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
