Crusader Kings III Chapter IV: Expanding Horizons with Mongols and Asia
Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III in 2025, dubbed Chapter IV, which focuses on expanding the game's horizons into Asia with new mechanics and regions to explore. This chapter promises to enrich the gameplay experience with a series of engaging DLCs and updates.
The journey begins with the recently launched cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This pack, though small, adds a touch of style with six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, allowing players to customize their rulers with flair.
Mark your calendars for April 28, when the first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, will be released. This expansion lets players take the reins as the Great Khan of the Mongols, leading a nomadic horde to conquer and dominate neighboring lands.
Next up, in the third quarter (July–September), comes Coronations. This DLC introduces a ceremonial mechanic where players can solidify their rule through grand coronation events. These ceremonies involve hosting lavish festivities, making solemn vows, and choosing the future direction of their kingdom. Additionally, new advisor and vassal events will deepen political interactions, adding layers to royal succession.
The chapter reaches its climax with the expansive All Under Heaven, slated for release later in the year. This massive expansion opens up the entire East Asian map, featuring intricately detailed regions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands. Players will have vast new territories to explore and conquer, making this one of the most ambitious expansions yet.
Throughout the year, Paradox will roll out patches to refine game systems and improve AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback to shape future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26.
