Ready to dive into the world of Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter: World*? These unique weapons let you craft custom gear with virtually any stats and elements you desire—a true late-game game-changer. But before you start forging, there's a bit of prep work involved.

Unlocking Artian Weapon Crafting

Unlocking Artian Weapons

First, you need to complete the main story and reach High Rank. Then, continue your hunt until you defeat your first Tempered monster. The game will make it clear which monster this is; the NPCs will be buzzing about its formidable appearance and scars. After this victory, Gemma will initiate a conversation about Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial that explains the crafting process.

Crafting Your Artian Weapon

Each weapon type requires three components. These components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus (attack or affinity boost). To craft, all components must share the same rarity. The weapon's elemental effect depends on the most common element among your components. For example, two water and one lightning component result in a water weapon; three water components create a stronger water infusion. Mixing three different elements results in a non-elemental weapon.

Obtaining Artian Materials

Artian Materials

Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. You'll usually find one or two roaming around each area after defeating your first Tempered monster. In-game notifications and their distinctive blue map markers will help you locate them. Defeating or capturing these monsters yields Artian parts, found alongside your main mission rewards and decorations. The rarity of these parts increases with your hunter rank, ensuring a natural progression as you level up. While there's no direct correlation between the monster hunted and the type of Artian parts dropped, hunt those you enjoy or need parts from for other gear.
