According to Deadline, the previously shelved Warner Bros. film Coyote vs. Acme might finally see a theatrical release. Los Angeles-based independent film production and distribution company, Ketchup Entertainment, is reportedly in deep negotiations to acquire the film. While the deal is not yet finalized, a successful acquisition could lead to a theatrical release in 2026.

Coyote vs. Acme, announced in 2022 and based on a 1990 Ian Frazier New Yorker article, was co-written by James Gunn and features Will Forte and John Cena. Originally slated for a mid-2023 release on Max, the film was unfortunately shelved despite being fully completed. Since then, a dedicated campaign to save the film has been actively pursued.

PlayKetchup Entertainment has a track record of rescuing films from cancellation, most notably with Warner Bros.' *The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie*. This film was saved from being axed and secured a theatrical run in the US, marking it as the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to hit theaters. IGN's review praised it as a "laugh-out-loud riot."

Ketchup Entertainment's portfolio also includes Hellboy: The Crooked Man and the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck. Additionally, the company co-produced Michael Mann's 2023 Ferrari biopic.
