ConcernedApe Drops Patch Preview for Stardew's Switch

Author : Christian Feb 11,2025

Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch update is imminent, addressing critical bugs. Developer ConcernedApe recently confirmed the impending release of a patch resolving the game-breaking divorce crash and issues with the raccoon shop.

While these problems have already been fixed across PC, mobile, and other consoles, the Switch version's patch remains in development. ConcernedApe assures players via social media that the update is "coming as soon as possible," offering reassurance after acknowledging the delay.

This follows the widely popular 1.6 update, released in March for PC and later ported to consoles and mobile in November. While 1.6 introduced substantial new content—including new farm types, character interactions, and visual enhancements—it inadvertently created new bugs. A swift emergency patch addressed mobile issues in mid-November, and the developer has since diligently worked on resolving platform-specific problems.

The ongoing communication from ConcernedApe has been praised by the Stardew Valley community. The developer's transparency regarding the Switch patch's progress underscores their commitment to player satisfaction. Although a specific release date is unavailable, players can expect the resolution shortly.

The anticipated patch will bring the Switch version in line with other platforms, allowing players to fully enjoy the enhanced gameplay and new features of update 1.6 without encountering the reported crashes and shop malfunctions.
