Black and White Kyurem Debut at Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Global Event

The legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their grand entrance during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. These Pokémon bring unique Adventure Effects that enhance your gameplay outside of battles, and you can maximize your earnings with the Tour Pass.

Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, creates an electrically charged ice field for 10 minutes. This immobilizes wild Pokémon, making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, simplifying the task of landing Excellent Throws. You can extend these effects in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total maximum duration of 24 hours.

During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. By fusing either Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, you'll unlock Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, which will replace Glaciate. Note that these moves will revert to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

You'll also have the chance to select between two event badges: Black Version, featuring Reshiram, or White Version, featuring Zekrom. Choosing the Black Version means encountering Kyurem with Glaciate after defeating Black Kyurem, and earning Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version will grant you Zekrom-themed rewards, with Kyurem encountered post-battle with White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.

To enhance your progression, utilize the Tour Pass, which unlocks various rewards and boosts your Adventure Effects. You can accumulate Tour Points by catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching Eggs. Additionally, you can accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone achieved will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
