Black Ops 6 Cheaters Kick Players, Activision's False Fix Claims
In late January, a video surfaced online showing a tool that allows hackers to remove players from matches in *Black Ops 6*. This video was taken from the game's multiplayer beta, according to Activision. The company confirmed that the vulnerability exploited in the video was addressed before *Black Ops 6* was officially released in November. They emphasized that the team diligently investigates reports of such utilities, and the video does not represent the current state of the game.
Despite Activision's claims, some players argue that the company is misleading the community, asserting that hackers are still using the tool. To support their claims, they provided a video showing the utility in action during a match on the Nuketown map, which was introduced to *Black Ops 6* a week after its release.
*Black Ops 6* emerged as the top-selling game in the US last year, according to Circana analysts. The *Call of Duty* franchise has maintained its position as the top-ranked game in the United States for 16 consecutive years. Meanwhile, *EA Sports College Football 25*, released on consoles in July, was the most played sports game in the country.
In 2024, U.S. gamers' spending saw a year-over-year decrease of 1.1%, attributed by Circana to reduced hardware demand. However, spending on add-ons and services increased by 2% and 6%, respectively. Looking ahead, the second season of *Black Ops 6* and *Warzone 2*, featuring a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe, is set to launch on January 28.
