BioWare

This isn't Dragon Age. The Veilguard's success is undeniable, yet unsettling news from BioWare has emerged.

Rumors recently spread online, originating from sources described as "agenda fighters," suggesting the closure of BioWare Edmonton and the departure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard's game director.

Eurogamer journalists, however, seem to corroborate at least part of this information. They report that Corinne Boucher, after nearly 18 years at EA and significant involvement with The Sims franchise, will be leaving BioWare in the coming weeks.

Eurogamer, however, remains uncertain about the speculated closure of The Veilguard's development team, classifying this aspect as pure speculation.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is mixed. While some hail it as a masterpiece and a return to form for BioWare, others consider it a solid, if unremarkable, RPG.

At the time of writing, The Veilguard boasts no negative Metacritic reviews. Most reviewers praise the engaging and dynamic action RPG gameplay, particularly challenging at higher difficulty levels.

However, this praise isn't universal. VGC, for example, criticizes the gameplay as feeling dated, lacking innovation or originality.
