A thrilling new trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what promises to be a gripping addition to the iconic franchise. The trailer, which was first showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders and shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account, delves into the harrowing plight of a spaceship's survivors as they grapple with a Xenomorph threat and hurtle towards Earth.

The trailer not only introduces a fresh take on the Xenomorph design but also strikingly mirrors the aesthetic of Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking 1979 film, Alien. A key scene takes place in a MU/TH/UR control room, eerily reminiscent of the Nostromo's, where the tension escalates as a crew member desperately seeks help while being hunted by the Xenomorph. The character Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, chillingly reports the escape of "specimens," declares the crew dead, and ominously sets the ship's course for Earth. The trailer then shifts to a group of six soldiers advancing toward what appears to be the crashed vessel, hinting at an ominous fate awaiting them.

This trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other survivors, and could any be carrying a Xenomorph embryo? How will the soldiers meet their end?

Alien: Earth is set to explore these mysteries, following a mysterious spacecraft's crash on Earth and the subsequent encounters of a young woman (played by Sydney Chandler) and a group of tactical soldiers with the planet's most formidable threat.

Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth slots into the franchise's timeline between Prometheus and Alien, sparking speculation among fans about potential connections to the Nostromo's departure from Earth or Weyland-Yutani's discovery of the Xenomorphs. Notably, the recently released Alien: Romulus serves as an interquel between Alien and Aliens.

Showrunner Noah Hawley has previously shared that Alien: Earth will diverge from the backstory established in Prometheus, opting instead for the "retro-futurism" of the original films. After consulting with Ridley Scott on various elements of the series, Hawley decided to steer clear of the bioweapon narrative, favoring the lore that captivated audiences in the earlier movies.

Fans can look forward to Alien: Earth premiering on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Alien: Romulus 2 is also in development, promising more thrilling adventures in this beloved universe.
