There's a new Alexa in town – or at least in early access. Alexa+ represents a significant upgrade from the standard Alexa voice assistant, powered by generative AI. The main attraction of Alexa+ is its ability to facilitate more natural, flowing conversations. Amazon describes it as "more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done."

Currently, Alexa+ is in Early Access, exclusively available on a select few Echo Show devices – the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own or are considering purchasing one of these devices, you can be among the first to experience Alexa+. To stay updated, visit the link below to sign up for notifications about when Early Access will be available. After the Early Access phase, Alexa+ will become a free benefit for Amazon Prime members or available to non-Prime users for $19.99 per month.

Thanks to its conversational approach, you can ask Alexa+ anything that comes to mind, making it easier to manage tasks like completing your to-do list, finding specific details from your calendar, booking a restaurant, and more. Amazon's Alexa+ Early Access page also mentions that "new features are being added regularly," suggesting that more enhancements and capabilities are on the horizon post-Early Access.

Unfortunately, not all devices are compatible with Alexa+. Amazon has specified that certain older generation Echo devices, including the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen, will continue to use the original Alexa. However, Amazon has promised to expand Alexa+ to more devices soon, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com.
