KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Version Shuts Down, Is It Getting an Offline Version?

Another gacha game bites the dust! KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global has officially ended its run today, January 30th, marking the end of an era for fans of the quirky anime. Let's take a look back at its lifespan and what the future holds.

A Relatively Short but Respectful Run

Developed by Sumzap and published by Nexon (later Sesisoft), KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global enjoyed a 3.5-year run, a respectable length for an anime-based gacha, especially considering declining revenue in recent times. The Japanese version lasted even longer, clocking in at a solid 5 years.

A Fitting Farewell

The developers clearly prioritized a proper send-off. Right up until the final day, they continued to release voiced story updates and even dropped a final song just three weeks ago. A farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, added a personal touch. The Japanese version went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on YouTube, allowing players to revisit the hilarious antics of Kazuma and his crew.

Global Players Miss Out on Offline Access

While the Japanese players received an offline version preserving the game's story, voice lines, and character collection, unfortunately, no such version is planned for the Global release. However, Global players can still enjoy the Japanese YouTube archive if they wish to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the gang.

What's Next?

The developers have shifted their focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. As for KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, it's game over. Stay tuned for our next article covering the February Community Day in Pokémon Go, featuring Karrablast and Shelmet.
