WoW Unveils Second Timewalking Event Timeline

World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways

World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, offering a whopping seven weeks of Timewalking campaigns, running until February 24th. This extended event provides ample opportunities to earn a plethora of rewards, including a significant experience boost and a mountain of Timewarped Badges.

This isn't your average Timewalking event. Building on the success of the September 2023 iteration, which featured five weeks of Timewalking, this expanded version increases the timeframe and the rewards. Players can once again earn the stackable Mastery of Timeways buff, granting a 20% experience bonus after completing four Timewalking dungeons.

But the rewards are even sweeter this time around. Completing the Mastery of Timeways buff for five out of the seven weeks unlocks the "Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2" achievement, awarding the coveted Timely Buzzbee mount. Furthermore, Timewalking vendors across all expansions now boast permanent additions to their inventory, including Season of Discovery transmogs at the Classic vendor. The Sandy Shalewing pet, previously only available during the initial Turbulent Timeways, is also making a comeback. And to top it all off, the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest reward, the Cache of Nerubian Treasures, now grants Heroic gear for the duration of the event.

Turbulent Timeways Event Schedule:

  • January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
  • January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
  • January 21-27: Legion
  • January 28-February 3: Classic
  • February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
  • February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
  • February 18-24: Cataclysm

This extended Timewalking period, following the recent 11-week World of Warcraft 20th-anniversary event, means players will be Timewalking for a staggering 18 consecutive weeks!

The conclusion of Turbulent Timeways on February 24th also hints at future World of Warcraft plans. Considering Blizzard's typical eight-week patch release cycle and the recent holiday season, this strongly suggests that Patch 11.1, "Undermined," is likely to launch on February 25th, approximately ten weeks after Patch 11.0.7. With the second run of Plunderstorm (January 14th-February 17th) and the upcoming major content update for The War Within, World of Warcraft is setting the stage for an action-packed start to 2025.
