World of Warcraft Players are Torn on One Patch 11.1 Shaman Feature
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1: A Visual Feast for Shamans (and More!)
WoW Patch 11.1 brings a visual overhaul to Shaman abilities, notably Lightning Bolt and Crash Lightning, revamping their appearance significantly. While other classes also receive updated visuals, Shamans enjoy a more extensive makeover. However, the changes aren't universally lauded by the community.
Currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR), Patch 11.1 offers a sneak peek at the upcoming content. In addition to a new zone, instances, and various rewards, all classes receive balance adjustments, including a substantial Hunter rework. Many classes boast new visual effects for their abilities, with Shamans receiving the most significant updates. Lightning Bolt, Crash Lightning, and Fire Nova undergo complete visual overhauls. Frost Shock gains new visual and audio enhancements when paired with Ice Strike. Ghost Wolf now scales with character models and boasts increased transparency. The Glyph of Spirit Raptors now functions with the Flowing Spirits talent. Detailed comparisons of these visual updates are showcased in videos by WoW content creator Doffen.

While the revamped Crash Lightning and Fire Nova are generally well-received, the Lightning Bolt animation sparks debate. Many players prefer the instantaneous bolt from Cataclysm over the projectile effect reminiscent of WoW Classic.
The community largely approves of the other visual updates. The hope is that Blizzard will introduce Glyphs allowing players to select preferred visual effects, similar to the Shaman Ascendance forms in Patch 11.0.5.
Beyond visual improvements, Patch 11.1 introduces new abilities: Primordial Storm (Shamans), Symbiotic Relationship (Druids), and Slicing Winds (Windwalker Monks). Players can anticipate experimenting with these new skills and enhanced visuals around February 25th.
